Haffenden Kane was named in tribute to those, who in going before us, have made the brand possible.
Onticha Sawasdee, the creative director of Haffenden Kane, migrated to Australia as a twelve-year old to join the Wilson family from her native Thailand. The two late matriarchs of her new family had the maiden names of Haffenden and Kane. It is to these two women she gratefully gives tribute.
Further to this, the Haffenden name carries historical significance to the Australian and English fashion industries. Late great-uncle Victor Haffenden was an accomplished fashion designer whose label was born in Sydney. To expand his horizons, he moved his “Haffenden” label to London to see his creations become popular with London socialites and celebrities. Victor tutored the younger members of his extended family, but unfortunately the Haffenden label died along with him. The naming of Haffenden Kane is also in honour of Victor.
“Haffenden Kane” is a trademark owned by Rupa Raga Pty Ltd. The term “Rupa Raga” is Sanskrit in origin and has the meaning of “the desire of fine material objects”. Through Haffenden Kane, it is Onticha’s intention to provide exactly as the translation suggests, quality pieces of fashion. Ranging from Victor Haffenden inspired tailoring with reimagined highlights for the modern empowered woman to fun pieces of self-expression. In essence, valued wardrobe additions for the woman who is aware of her own value.
Thank you for shopping with Haffenden Kane. It a privilege to share our creations and it is hoped your experience with us is everything we aspire to deliver.
